The Kyoto Alu Lounge Chair reimagines a classic, bent bamboo chair in durable, powder coated aluminum to beautifully withstand harsh exterior elements and high traffic use. Substantial yet airy, the lounge chair’s curved, low-slung profile, deep cushions, and open slats offer exceptional comfort. An intriguing X motif across the back creates visual interest while its legs and stretchers are joined with intricately wrapped JANUSfiber. For enhanced relaxation, the Kyoto Alu Ottoman is scaled to pair perfectly with the lounge chair. Kyoto Alu is available in two striking hues: Lava, a saturated black, and Limestone, a soft white.

The aluminum frame features a proprietary powder-coated finish that creates a protective, weather-resistant, rustproof, and UV-inhibiting barrier far more durable than conventional paint. The frame includes precision welds and reinforced stress points for strong support and lasting shape.

The weave is composed of JANUSfiber®, a proprietary synthetic fiber intricately handwoven over the frame. JANUSfiber® is UV-resistant, colorfast, and engineered to withstand sun, moisture, and high-traffic use while retaining the warm look and inviting texture of natural materials. JANUSfiber® beautifully endures exposure to the elements for years beyond the lifespan of woven natural fibers.

The nylon glides can be fixed, adjustable or even self-leveling, and protect floors from scratches, reduce noise, and allow furniture to move smoothly without damaging surfaces.

Our performance fabrics are made from durable polyester and polypropylene fibers, which are bleach-cleanable, fade-resistant, anti-mildew, and eco-friendly. The Premium Collection features an extensive array of patterns, textures, and colors — including hand-silkscreened designs in proprietary pigments — developed for outdoor durability but equally suited for refined interior spaces. The Standards Collection includes weather-resistant, solution-dyed acrylic fabrics in a wide range of colors.

Cushion Fill

The cushions have been engineered for maximum water drainage and air circulation. They feature an open-cell, quick-dry foam wrapped in high-quality poly fibers made from recycled post-consumer plastics.
