Located on the beautiful Rushcutters Bay foreshore, the Cruising Yacht Club of Australia (CYCA) was established in 1944 and, over the years, has become Australia’s premier yacht club. Home to perhaps the most prestigious and difficult yacht race event worldwide—the Rolex Sydney Hobart Yacht Race—the CYCA has created a cultural marina and world-class yacht club, a destination for passionate ocean racers and social sailors alike.
Recently, the CYCA’s traditional clubhouse underwent a nine-month makeover, and the expert team at Allen Jack+Cottier was chosen to design the new digs. Tasked with refreshing the space to combine the property’s classic features with a modern aesthetic, Allen Jack+Cottier selected an array of JANUS et Cie furnishings, contemporary and sleek in style. The club’s new look features Dolce Vita, Koko II, Kudo, Matisse, Niche, and Trig collections, each in soothing neutrals and, for Trig and Matisse, a mix of bright whites and classically nautical navy hues.
With improved accessibility, increased space and flow, and new engaging, comfortable spaces, the refurbished Clubhouse reflect’s the CYCA’s vibrant and athletic dedication to a life well-lived on the water. “We now have a home befitting our status as one of the leading ocean racing clubs in the world and one in which I know members are already proud,” said CYCA Commodore Paul Billingham.
JANUS et Cie is honored to be an official sponsor of the CYCA.
