We currently have an opportunity for a CAD Technician to support our Cushion Department. Under the direction of the Director of Cushion Operations, the CAD Technician will create furniture cushions, covers, umbrellas and canopy patterns. He/she will also support the sales team with questions related to cushions. Specific responsibilities include:
• Operate SolidWorks or similar drafting program to create and develop patterns for sampling and production
• Create computer patterns for existing and new designs
• Partner with Cushion Stylist on new development and translate template patterns from paper to digital
• Calculate and communicate costing of new development to Product Manager
• Work with internal business partners to facilitate production samples for approval
• Create documentation to ensure consistency of production designs
• Respond to product inquiries via email as necessary
• Other duties as assigned
The ideal candidate will have the following qualifications:
• 2+ years of solid CAD experience (SolidWorks, AutoCAD or Visio)
• Strong math and geometry skills
• Attention to detail and willingness to work hands-on with cushions and furniture frames required
• Skills in craftsmanship and pattern making are a plus
• Strong sense of urgency and ability to prioritize
• Team player willing to work with other departments within the organization, such as Sales, Client Services and Accounting
• Ability to multitask and flexibility for cross training
• Fluency in English and Spanish
• Reliable team player with a positive attitude
• Proficiency on the Microsoft suite of products (Outlook, Word and Excel)
• Ability to work Monday – Friday from 7:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.
