Workspace with a View: A Rooftop Respite for a Dedicated Engineering Team

When tech company Analog Devices moved their innovation lab to the heart of Boston in the newly renovated 125 Summer Street building, they wanted a revamped research facility designed to inspire creativity and collaboration between the talented individuals on their team. The expert Baker Design Group was tasked with designing work environments and social spaces that allowed for panoramic views of the city and harbor, all-hands meetings in large café spaces, and an expansive roof deck and garden that offered a chance for employees to work or socialize outdoors.

The rooftop space includes Mood Barstools as well as Mood Armchairs, with an airy open weave crafted from weather-resistant polyolefin, creating a cozy yet resilient seat. The Mood collection’s premium teak legs beautifully juxtapose with the rooftop’s concrete elements—natural materials and potted plants balance the space’s urban aesthetic for a unique, engaging, and versatile outdoor environment. Pieces from the Matisse collection, including a 2-seat sofa, offer contemporary yet comfortable seating and a stylish respite from the workplace.

Within the walls of the “Analog Garage,” a JANUS et Cie Cross Court Table provides an opportunity for play and relaxation, as well as a space for creative ideas to flourish. With an innovative and energetic workforce, the team at Analog Devices is thrilled to have an office environment that matches their dynamic, forward-thinking ventures.
