The prestigious Medinah Country Club in Medinah, Illinois has welcomed golf all-stars from all over the world to its stunning greens, playing host to seven major championships since its opening in 1924 including the Ryder Cup, two PGA Championships and three US Opens. In fact, Medinah’s legendary Course #3 is where Tiger Woods won both the 1999 and 2006 PGA Championships, becoming the first person to ever win the PGA Championship twice on the same course.
With such a storied past, Medinah’s extraordinary grounds and welcoming clubhouse have become a bridge between golf’s history and the future of the sport. Designed by architect Richard G. Schmid in the 1920s, the Medinah Country Club has been recently updated by the talented team at OKW Architects, who planned and designed Medinah’s new freestanding Golf Performance Center, Racquet Center, and redesigned their existing Oasis Restaurant. Focused on elevating the experience for Medinah’s members and expanding the club’s amenities with state-of-the-art design, OKW worked with our knowledgeable specialists to outfit outdoor spaces with pieces from the durable and distinctive Quadratl collection by the renowned, multi-disciplinary design icon Orlando Diaz-Azcuy. The stately Quadratl collection complements the classic lines of the Byzantine, Louis XIV, and Italian architectural influences that inspired Schmid’s original clubhouse design nearly a century ago. The collection’s expertly engineered aluminum frames are ideal for the club’s location near Chicago as they are crafted to endure humid summers and icy winters.
