Opened in 1887 as a 10-room bungalow, the prestigious Raffles Hotel Singapore has since become one of the most storied and recognized luxury destinations in the world, offering a total of 115 suites including a 2,798-square-foot Presidential Suite. Renowned for excellent service, striking architectural features, and for being the birthplace of the iconic Singapore Sling cocktail, this stately property offers a rich history, one that has been beautifully elevated by Champalimaud Design following a two-year renovation.

In collaboration with a restoration team including Aedas Singapore, Beca, and Studio Lapis, design icon Alexandra Champalimaud expertly refreshed Raffles Hotel’s interiors—including suites, restaurant and bar areas, and the lobby—with a thoughtful dedication to preserving the property’s distinctive ambiance, grace and charm. In highlighting intimate social spaces, Champalimaud creates a light, calming atmosphere that draws guests into the property, inviting exploration and social engagement. The result is a dynamic, contemporary interior environment that accentuates the hotel’s historic prominence while expertly translating it for a new generation of discerning travelers.

The newly redesigned Raffles Hotel Singapore unveiled updated outdoor areas, an intimate pool deck lined with Deauville II Chaise Lounges and whimsical, black-and-white striped Inlaid Side Tables. Overlooking the pool area, the hotel’s chic outdoor bar is wrapped in emerald green, a nod to the tropical nature of the island that inspired Champalimaud throughout the property. The subtle foliage motifs and earth tones are complemented by the bar’s Amalfi Barstools and Armchairs—classic silhouettes that truly embody the Raffles ethos: timeless, uncompromising design to be enjoyed for generations.
