JANUS et Cie®, the reputable, design-focused leader in the furniture industry, is seeking an extraordinary candidate as President to lead the organization.

For nearly four decades, JANUS et Cie has been an industry leader in sophisticated, high-end indoor and outdoor furnishings and is growing in all major locations throughout the U.S. serving multiple market sectors, as well as expanding its footprint globally. The successful candidate for this role will be responsible for defining overall strategy, working closely with all business leaders to continue profitable growth domestically and internationally, while championing the mission and values that have historically guided the organization to consistent success. JANUS et Cie is looking for an entrepreneurial and highly dynamic sales-focused President to continue our expansion. This position reports to the JANUS et Cie CEO, the position currently held by Janice Feldman, founder and partner.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Oversee and be accountable for daily operations of the company and the work of Sales, Finance, Operations, Human Resources, Product Development, Marketing and the tools and technology associated with each division to ensure production efficiency, quality, service and cost-effective management of resources.
• Promote the JANUS et Cie culture evidenced by demonstrating accessibility, mentorship, empathetic, open and authentic communication.
• Develop and implement a sustainable global strategy to achieve targeted annual growth while maintaining strong profitability.
• Demonstrate extraordinary leadership and communication skills to foster an independent and collaborative decision-making environment.
• Anticipate and plan for events that may impact JANUS et Cie’s fiscal stability and capacity for growth.
• Evaluate performance by analyzing and interpreting data and high integrity metrics.
• Conduct day-to-day management and interpersonal communication that mirrors JANUS et Cie’s mission and values.
• Implement global practices to increase international presence and revenue evidenced by budgeted growth.
• Lead employees to meet and exceed performance goals and dedication through clear communication of policies and actions that promote JANUS et Cie culture and vision.

Key Functions

• Focus on the value of raising talent through strong hires and development of existing team members while building on talent stream and succession planning.
• Manage supply chain expansion and strategic development.
• Identify acquisition and merger opportunities and direct implementation activities.
• Plan, develop and implement strategies for generating resources and/or revenue for the company.
• Evaluate performance of executives and compliance and established policies and objectives of the company and contributions of attaining those objectives.
• Develop the vision for JANUS et Cie’s digital and social strategies with senior leadership and partner companies.
• Evaluate and develop vision and implementation for expanded and/or consolidated distribution opportunities including warehousing, transportation and certain manufacturing operations.
• Develop an ongoing strategy for clearance inventory and possibly creation of merchandise for that channel.
• Conduct regular business reviews to ensure performance to annual business plan targets.
• Possesses an attitude of ownership of personal and functional goals for both this position and the entire enterprise.
• Maintain strict confidentiality.
• Work closely in transition with the COO to fully understand all operations of the business.
• Work closely with founding CEO to fully incorporate her ideas into this new role in the company.

Education and Experience

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree preferred.
• A minimum 10 years of experience in progressively responsible roles within senior management positions.
• A proven track record managing a strategic planning process, resulting in improved efficiency, program effectiveness and sustainability of organizational budget.
• Experience implementing global practices to increase revenue and budgeted growth.
• Previous experience developing and managing a sales team required.
• Self-starting leader who excels in a roll-up-one’s-sleeves environment.
• International and multi-cultural experience.
• Fluent in data analytics.
• Experienced in manufacturing, sourcing, product development, inventory management.
• Proven track record of sustained year-to-year growth by having met financial requirements and operational expectations.
• Inspirational, collaborative, hands-on leader and thinker.
• Exemplary track record of managing and developing people.
